Late Piking Day at Lakesideposted on 15 May 2017 | posted in Articles / NewsWith Josh joining me at Lakeside today , we decided to have a late piking day as Josh always wanted to catch one. I wasn't to sure if the Pike was going to play game as its a bit late in the year but the weather was overcast with showers all day so may be within a chance today. So We quickly setting up a spinning rod with a wire trace and set of trebles (barbless ) and for bait a few packs of plan smelts. About 20 minutes later line was pouring of the spool of the line Cracking Start for Josh. Then 10 minute later we lost one at the net , It jumped out of the water and spat out the bait at the same time ( It was a bigger Pike as well ) So a quick re bait and the line was playing tricks again , so we knew there was move in the swim which was good news. Number 2 on the bank Then we had to wait 45 minutes for the next one to come along Then we couldn't get anymore bites on dead baits so Josh wanted to fish the pole for the last Hour He was getting bites every minute which was great to see the float sliding away then a nice Skimmer A great days Fishing even know we had plenty of fine Showers all day |
