Close Seasonposted on 1 March 2021 | posted in Articles / NewsThe coarse fish close season on rivers came into force on Monday 15 March and runs up to and including 15 June. During this period it is illegal to fish for coarse fish on rivers and streams. The restrictions are in place to protect fish during their peak spawning period so it’s important to avoid these areas. Our officers and Angling Trust voluntary bailiffs will be making sure everyone’s following the rules. The good news is that you don’t have to miss out on your fishing fix: you’re still allowed to fish on the vast majority of lakes, ponds and reservoirs as well as canals during this time |
